IMTEC® ORTHO Implant
IMTEC Ortho Implant from 3M Unitek offers fixed anchorage to improve treatment efficiency. Useful for space closure, tooth up righting, open bite correction, molar distalization and numerous other applications, the IMTEC Ortho Implant is a versatile temporary anchorage device designed with both doctor and patient in mind.
Easy, Stable Installation
The self-taping, thread forming design of the IMTEC Ortho Implant allows installation procedure to be completed in one appointment and loaded with an attachment immediately. In most cases, since a pilot hole or stronger anesthetic than a topical application is not required, there are very few installation steps. Choose from different options like the straight Ortho Driver, the contra-angled LT Driver, the finger driver or the winged thumb wrench to install the implant, using the hand instrument – most convenient for achieving the correct location and angle for the implant.
Other compelling features that are vital for installation are:
- The square neck resides close to the center of the implant, enabling stable insertion.
- No part of the implant extends perpendicular to the direction of the implant, ensuring that there is nothing that can impinge with the tissue once placed.
- The thread of the implant is in the form of a modified buttress thread, improving the security of the implant's hold, once placed.
Versatile Application
While the three different implant lengths - 6, 8 & 10mm - allow multiple applications in different areas of the mouth, the curved head offers a groove above the neck and two 0.030" holes for different attachment options.
Other features that are important for application are:
- The O-Cap, an exclusive feature of the IMTEC Ortho Implant helps prevent tissue overgrowth, has an attachment groove, and can be soldered for customized attachment needs.
- The latest feature is the locking closed coil spring which provides easy attachment capability and locks into place once installed.
