Bond and Seal

3M™ VHB™ Tapes have undergone rigorous tests for assuring excellent durability and performance. They were attached to perimeter frames on architectural panels and subject to water leakage tests. The results indicated that with proper application of 3M™ VHB™ Tapes there was no sign of water penetration. Note here that liquid sealants are often suggested at corner seams where the tape bond is not continuous.

The tests have been conducted at Construction Research Laboratory (Miami, FL), according to the ASTM E331 Standard Test Method for Water Penetration of Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors and Curtain Walls by Uniform Static Air Pressure difference.
